Sydney's public transport system features a comprehensive network of train, bus and ferry services. Light rail lines, airport links, sightseeing buses and taxi services complement the network.
To access all above transport system, you won't need to buy ticket for each one. NSW transport department has introduced a smart ticketing card called:

on all modes of public transport. The opal card can be used on following modes of

Opal card is a contact less smart card ticketing system for public transport services in the greater Sydney area of New South Wales, Australia which keep, reload and reuse to pay for travel in NSW. it is like a prepaid card, in which simply add values to your opal card them tap on and tap off your fares on trains, buses, ferries and light rail anywhere in opal network. Operation of the Opal system is managed by the New South Wales Government's transport authority, Transport for NSW. Opal is valid on Transport for NSW's bus, rail, light rail and ferry services that operate in Sydney and the neighboring Central Coast, Hunter Region, Blue Mountains and Illawarra areas. It is also accepted on train services in the Southern Highlands.

be in ticketing queue and help be in time at work or in university/college. It has
save not only time but also money that we used to spend for purchasing all
kinds of transportation’s ticket, wherever go. It is not only a card but a key

five different types, each with their own colour and they are:
